Kunchacko Boban is an actor who has been active in Malayalam cinema for over a decade and a half. He made his debut as a hero in the 1997 film Aniyathiprav and has acted in fifty Malayalam films. Kunchako Boban is the grandson of Malliyampurakal Kunchako who migrated from Pulingunn in Kuttanad to Alappuzha and established Udaya Studio. In 1981, he acted as a child actor in the film Dhanya, produced by his father Boban Kunchacko and directed by Fazil. Faasil’s first film in which he acted in the lead role was Aniyathiprav, which was released in 1997 and was directed by him. It was also the film in which Shalini, who acted as a child star in Malayalam films, made her debut as a heroine. Kunchacko Boban played the role of Sudhi in that film.

Although the second film, Nakshatra Tharat, was not a huge success, Kunchacko’s star value did not diminish. Ranr, directed by Kamal, was a commercial success.
